Forensic voyager specialist?

I hope I am not abusing this forum. I am looking also at this 96 with a salvage title.

I drove it and this is my first time driving a XII. It seemed to drive fine to me. I was not sure what it should sound like and if anything was obviously wrong by the sound.
Video included.
Damaged plastic, missing saddle bag, faded /sun damaged dash, some missing trim pieces.
I also have the issue that I will investigate on Monday about bringing a NC Salvage title from SC into GA.

Time consuming but any input is appreciated.
I hope to make a decision this week on what to purchase

Replacing plastic is probably the most expensive part of rehabing a Voyager XII which is why insurance companies are pretty quick to total a touring bike. Saddlebags and especially lids are expensive. Plus the likelihood of finding all of the pieces in your color is extremely remote and repainting is expensive unless you can do it yourself. Also, saddlebags and lids often (usually??) come without the hardware (latches, locks, plastic cubbies and their lids.) Replacing the dash is probably more than a two-beer afternoon. I would say this bike would have to be darn near free. I would pass and find a complete bike in good condition because they are out there and will cost less in the long run, unless you just like working on bikes. Just my opinion.

I would agree, unless it was REAL cheap and came with a full tank of fresh gas I would pass, the salvage title alone would kill resell or trade in. BUT, if it's cheap enough I would buy it to part out and make a little change on. It is worth more in parts than it is as a rider.
