Hello everyone I just purchased a used Tow Pac kit off the internet and am going to be installing it this week on my 03 Voyager. Due to a construction accident a few yrs ago my ankles just aren't what they used to be. And my better half wants it for when she's ridingwith me. Last time she was on it with me it felt a little squirrelly on the interstate and then I tweeked my ankle at a stop light. So I'm putting training wheels to keep her happy. So I have a couple questions.
1) Has anyone installed one of these kits before and do you have any recommendations to make the installation easier or better?
2) Since I'm going to have all the luggage off are there any maintenance issues I should take care of at the time of install. Bike has 33k on it and while I won't say the previous owner abused it, I think he was more of a ride it till it breaks and then fix it kind of person. didn't get an owners manual with it so I'm not sure if I should be checking anything specific at this point.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the manual

Tow Pac & Voyager Trike Kits will make the bike steer like a ATV. Will take some practice getting used to it. Totally different from a 3 wheel trike.
Follow Tow Pac's instructions closely. Proper Alignment is critical. As is tire pressure. Check your wheel bearing often to. You'll be tweaking it a lot to get everything right

Re: Trike kit install
Thanks Voyager 55 for the bike manual. I will have something to work off of now. Anyone have any hints or tips on installing the tow pac kit? Any input would be appreciated as I haven't done one of these before or any trike kit for that matter.
Thanks
Steve

Since you will have the luggage off,I would suggest removing the rear wheel and final drive to grease the hub splines, and if you have no history of the drive shaft splines being greased,do them too. When I bought my '99, 5 years ago with 22000 miles, the rear drive shaft splines were almost dry,and the front were dry .You will want a service manual to do that service, and a new spare front joint retaining pin.The pin likes to hide when you pull the drive shaft off of the gear box.

You might want to go to the ABBIKEBOARD.com and check with the Count. He has a Tow Pac on his Voyager 1200.
