Farkle-Itis is not a medical condition... Wiring Bus idea

Post by HawkeSHR »

I cant afford the "Motogadget" wiring block (http://motogadget.com/de/elektrik/elekt ... erung.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)... so here's what I am doing.

I kind of abhor the inline fuse :tho: way of things so I decided to organize a little bit.

To augment the fuseblock already installed, I added a 6-blade fuse block (BUSS block you can get at any auto parts store) for the positive leads and a barrier strip for negative leads so that the battery terminals are not clogged with connections. SO I ran a 12 gauge red wire to the positive terminal and 12 gauge black wire to the negative terminal terminating each at their respective blocks. Both units are velcroed down and can be removed any time. I just need to do some kind of cover for each to protect from water that could works its way up there.

What is nice is that if a circuit blows you can easily troubleshoot your electrical issues (aside from a wire that could have cracked inside the insulation).

Part 2 of this project will be to put these accessories on a switched circuit. I need to add the relay and wire it accordingly. Cost was about $20.

I may upgrade to a BlueSea block later (http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Systems- ... NJT1HYWQS7" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

I agree the setup is pretty "plug and play". Thanks for sharing that link.
