EZ-Pass mounting options
For those who use EZ-Pass, what various types of mounting options have already been used with success. I'm interested in what ideas are out there...
Thanks for any anticipated responses!

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
Well after getting the wrong one sent to us for the bike, which was made for a tag mount on a car tag, we received this one shown at the left side of the windshield.
I taped off the data tag and painted the housing black and used the two velcro strips supplied. Best thing we ever purchased , no more dang waiting in line.

Not prepaid but linked to your bank or credit card. They just suck it right out. When you travel up here in the northeast you can't carry enough cash with you for all the dog-gone tolls.voyager55 wrote:Is a EZ pass a prepaid toll road item? Don't have toll roads here

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
In Illinois we have the "I-Pass" which is a windshield mounted flat transponder about a half inch thick. I-PASS and E-ZPass can be used interchangeably and are accepted in 15 states by 26 toll agencies.
One option is jacket pocket carry which sometimes works. Also since my bikes and SUV are registered under the same I Pass device even if I didn't have it with me, before they'd issue a ticket for running a toll my plates are cross checked against their account database. Works for open road tolling situations, not the individual toll booths or gated entrances/exits.

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
Thanks for the replies - Much appreciated! I like the black paint idea too. May just do that.
The I-Pass where they crosscheck the plate number is an interesting variation.

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
I used to live in Florida (SunPass?), but never bothered as didn't use those roads enough.voyager55 wrote:Is a EZ pass a prepaid toll road item? Don't have toll roads here
Planning on traveling to the NE this year or next. I wonder if getting those for an out of state motorcycle (actually 2) is possible (or advised). Kind of like getting a month long Subway pass if one is traveling much in city in New York.
No hurry, just curious.
Oh and I got a pair of Pioneer TS0A1072R so will be upgrading the front of my '03 soon (Christmas from my wife).
Happy New Year,
Ken

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
I live in Louisiana where tolls are practically non existent unless you use the Sunshine Bridge or go down to the ports in Fourchon for anything. I visited New York many years ago and was absolutely astounded by the number of toll roads, bridges, tunnels etc. I can't understand with the incredibly high taxes you have in the northeast and the tolls and fees that abound everywhere how you ever make enough money to live there.

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
In Illinois, I picked up clear Velcro-type strips at the Toll Oasis office for free. They mount on the inside of the windshield and are hardly noticeable, but they have a strong hold. I can easily move the I-Pass between the bike and my car.

Re: EZ-Pass mounting options
I put the EZ-pass in the right fairing compartment, picks up at the toll plaza just fine
