My new HARTCO seat
I installed a new HARTCO seat on my 2000. Initial thoughts, I'm impressed. Mark really worked with me in understanding what I needed. He made it low and comfortable. Installation required me to transfer the rails from the passenger seat to the new seat. Then bolt it on.

Re: My new HARTCO seat
Looks to me like quality workmanship and you should get many comfortable smiles out if it !!
I can believe that a good seat is half the journey. If your butt hurts you are not enjoying the "voyage". This one should help to keep you and your passenger in a decent frame of mind because of no physical distractions.
Congrats!

Re: My new HARTCO seat
Hopefully I will get to ride this weekend.
The reasons I went with HARTCO is:
1-cost, under 500.00 (including tax/shipping)
2-that included the custom drivers and passenger seat and backrest!
3-he was able to closely match the stitching with the stock 2000 stitching on the passenger backrest.
4-I didn't need to send him my original seat. I keep that.
5-he's in Florida, about a 2 hour ride for me, if I need any adjustments
6-he has been making them for the XII since the beginning.
I will post how it does next week. So far, huge improvement over stock, but only on short ride. He really worked with me. I'm short, 5'5". The new seat he made low. So no raise in height.

Does that little pouch on the backrest come with the seat? Wish I had that on mine!

Yes Hank. It is included with the backrest. It is attached with snaps so it is removable. It has Velcro closure on the pouch flap.

Re: My new HARTCO seat
I had Mark make me one before the rally last year. It takes a little bit to break it in. I rode 12 hrs the first day and didn't have to stop because my butt was sore. Went from south of Houston to Ashevelle, then down to Miami, then back home over 3900 miles. You never realize how much difference a seat can make. I am very pleased and it matches the bike perfectly, 2003 Voyager.

Re: My new HARTCO seat
Sounds like a winning deal, me being in florida too. I may ask him if it moves you back a little. I don't need lower tho and no passenger box anymore, so stitching doesn't mater.

Rode today for about 2 hours. I noticed the seat is very "tight". Not much room to move forward and backwards. With that being said, it is exactly where I need to be. I had no but pain whatsoever. I know it takes time to break in. Mark says 3000 mile break in period. Definitely an improvement. If I have any problems with it, I will post it here.

Re: My new HARTCO seat
I have a Hartco Tony. You just have to ride over to Cleveland but you better wait for spring. Snow is a little deep here. You believe the gull of these guys in the south rubbing in that warm weather thing. lolLucasind wrote:Let us know your thoughts on comfort level, after riding a bit.....I'm thinking of going that direction as well. Hi Keith, If your going out to Colorado...I'll take ya up on that "checking out your seat".
as far as the guys down south..... well ,I might give a occasional snicker if I lived down there as well !
The longer I live here in the north ,the less I like it !

Re: My new HARTCO seat
I thought that they were like $1000 and made to fit the rider. So this smooth hartco is as good as the built for an individual?
