Hi folks. I'm looking at changing my leaky o rings on the coolant header going into the engine. The specs call for four 18.54 X 2.6 mm o rings. Can i use a standard 3/4 X 3/32 inch rings instead and are they a special material compound.
Thanks in advance

Re: o rings
Go with OEM imho, because of the composition of the o-rings is spec'd for the use and any aftermarket may not be. & exact size & form is critical as many have found out. They have to go in evenly all at the same time. Area on both manifold & engine has to be spotless and free from burrs or any rust or corrision and use a top quality o-ring lube. Not done correctly they will leak in a very short time and you have to do it again. The OEM's are not that expensive so your are not saving a bunch by trying others. Kaw dealer may have them but if not, Carl can get them to you faster than anyone Carl Leo, 386-898-7659, E-mail: voyagerparts@bellsouth.net, He will give you the best advice on correct install.

....I second ,what doug just said. Go with OEM....cause it's alot of work to go thru ,to possibly have to do it over again to save a buck !

Re: o rings
Got my O'rings from Carl Leo Thanksgiving week (put in the following weekend). For the price (can't remember right now, somewhere between $5 and $20), any other isn't worth the headache of the unknown and maybe doing it again. Re: o rings
I say also go with OEM o-rings so you know they fit. Take your time taking it all apart. I did mine last fall and it isnt that difficult.kjsett wrote:Got my O'rings from Carl Leo Thanksgiving week (put in the following weekend).
