Chrome LED driving lights?

Post by wmeier »

Has anyone found decent looking chrome led driving lights? I see some on e-bay, but was kind of looking for more of a classic driving light look.

Whatever LED Lights you go for, be aware that Most are not FCC approved and MAY cause interference with the Radio..
You may be able to reduce that with the use of chokes in line with the light close to them or additional grounding..

It appears to be Airborne and not power cable transmitted , although I suspect there may be some..

Triton28 you say bulbs can be replaced with H3 mount LED. This are the running lights I have right now. Where do I get H3 mount LED?

Start from there. Be careful to check the dimension of any choice as the clearance is only 41mm from the O/S of the reflector mount to the back of the glass lens.
I really like the look of the old Chieftains. I have a set myself on a '90 but I haven't chosen a LED H3 yet. If you ever want to sell them let me know as I still need 2 more sets of the Chieftains for my '87s.

Sorry, I should have been more accurate. My running lights look exactly like the Chieftains but they are not. Mine are 55W halogens. They work fine, but I am concerned about draining the battery while driving. Don't know how to tell if I have too much draw on the battery. I imagine putting a meter between all the negative cables to the battery and the neg post on the battery would tell me.

If you don't have one of these, I would recommend them. We have them installed on a couple of our bikes and have no problems, and they work great.

Wayne,
If you are concerned about excessive power consumption, take a look at this:

I've been using one of these for years and paid about 1/2 of what they are currently asking. It works good and has other fringe benefits.
