No radio memory power

This bike is sure keeping me busy tracking down little issues. I'm alright with that in the winter but I wish all problems would go away during riding season.

Anyway....
I have no memory power on my radio. I can turn the radio on and set the clock/station presets but when I turn off the radio or the bike, everything goes away. Is there a fuse for this? What would cause this fuse to blow?

Yes, an in-line glass type fuse (2or 3 Amp not sure) at the back of the radio. It can be accessed by removing th headlight. It could simply be the fuse is slightly corroded. Mine was. While there clean the other in-line fuse next to it. That is a higher Amp fuse and is the main power for the radio. Mine was also corroded there causing the radio to cut in and out over bumps.

first fuse on the left of the fuse box. I will be a 3amp it is the one for the memory.

3amp fuse in fuse box in front of battery, that was my problem easy fix.

That !#$%^&* 10 pin plug under the left side 'gas tank' cover. I don't remember the wire color (I think yellow) but it might also be time to clean and 'no-alox' ALL the terminals, or you'll be replacing the connectors one wire at a time. My 2000 at 60 K "cleaned" (but not too well, obviously) and again at 95 K (cut connector apart and bullet-terminaled wires).

I had so many problems with that 10 pin connector on my 02. Blowing several different relays several times especially the brake relay without me knowing it until someone told me my brake lights were not working. At Carls advice I cut the connector out and soldered and heat shrink all 10 wires together. No problem since and that was 2 years ago.

Ok, the most common causes of the 1 amp behind the headlight or the 3 amp in the fuse block is reconnecting a battery.. BUT check your HS button... Does it work and click positively? Also check under the tape flap for all 3 screws..
If any are missing or the HS button doesnt work, then chances are the missing screw is floating about inside the radio and will short out randomly causing the fuse to blow..
If you are lucky, it will only take the fuse..
If you are unlucky, then part of the PCB track will be taken as well as the fuse.. In either case, its a radio out to retrieve the screw..

Several more ideas here and I will be checking them all out. I found the 3amp fuse had blown out so I replaced it. It worked for about a week and 350 miles then suddenly went out again. Before I put another fuse in there, I'm going to try and track down the problem.

One other place to look is behind the headlite where the fuses go into the radio case they have sometimes rubbed on the entrance hole edge into the radio case and wore thru the insulation and short out, thus blowing the fuse.
