Headlight not working, blows fuse
Put new fuse in, start bike, fuse blows! Neutral, Overdrive, turn signal brakes lights all work. Headlight and running lights, and dash lights not working. Have looked an the large white connector on left of battery, cut wire tie to the left and right of ignition switch. Wiggled all the wire bundles that I can touch! Acts like a "dead short" but cannot find it. Any ideas would be appreciated!!!! Thanks

Re: Headlight not working, blows fuse
If a fuse is burning then something hot is shorting to ground. Not likely a loose wire. Look for wires that might have the insulation scuffed off them. Don't rule out a problem with the headlight bulb connector itself. If you have a volt ohm meter check the voltage at the plug, should be 2 hot leads and and a ground. Disconnect the battery and do an ohms check between the hots and grounds and see it you get a positive voltage reading. If so trace down those wires. It can be a tedious process, like trying to find a burnt Christmas tree light in a string of lights. Take your time and it can be done.

Re: Headlight not working, blows fuse
Update! Did as Mr Jensee suggested. Spent several hours getting acquainted with the wiring!
I think the problem is a relay. Pulled all the relays on left side, checked connectors, replaced three relays, problem gone! Not sure if the headlight relay was stuck or ? Put bike back together, stopping every 10 minutes to fire up an check to see if problem came back, never returned! Go figure????

Wiring and electricity are are a learning experience. Now next time finding the problem will go faster.
