Has anyone put dual piston caliper on their 1200 out there. I want better more powerful brakes. I am going to go with stainless lines but that still not enough.

After installing the stainless steel brake lines, make sure you have good quality brake pads. Use either EBC, Galfer, SBS or Braking pads. I used the EBC F85HH with the EBC rotors, and was able to lock the front tire with three fingers. The HH pads also work better the hotter the pads. I've always been a front brake rider, meaning that I don't use the rear brake, I got about 100k on the rear brake pads.

After I did this I was able to come down mountain passes in Colorado and California only using the front brakes with plenty of stopping power.

NorCal Voyagers sells both Galfer stainless steel brake line kits and brake pads.

Put on the new brakes lines today and now I can actually lock up the rear tire. Front brakes are outstanding and will lock up also. Thank you Don and Carl for you advice and help on bleeding the rear brake and getting the right pads.

Where do you get the stainless lines? Back brake is anemic to say the least.

Just recently put the stainless lines from NorCalVoyagers (Don Medina) on my xii. Made a huge difference. Of course the new pads, new rotor, new fluid and cleaning all the master's out may have helped a little as well. If you make the conversion to stainless I highly recommend getting the clutch line as well. Really did not take very long to install (about 5 hours for an amateur like me), even the line for the clutch is easy to snake into the right spot. The feel you get through all the controls is much more positive, and I think the smaller brake lines really clean up the front of the bike.

I really like mine. They made the brakes so much better. I still have to much free play in my rear brake though. Its hard to adjust the nuts on the yoke. I don't like pushing down on the pedal very far before i feel the brakes working. With the stainless line though I can now lock the rear wheel.

Thanks everyone, I'm happy you like the stainless steel brake lines. I have them in stock, in two colors, black and clear. The clear have a UV clear coating so that they won't yellow.
Price is $210.00 for the Voyager 1200 kit. It includes 5 lines including the clutch line, banjo bolt and crush washers.


I've only had one problem at that's with the Voyager 1700 ABS kit. I sold the kit to an AVA member and he's have a problem with the ABS fittings.
