I just checked the NOS set I bought last year and they are almost 1/4" short as well, but, I also have the bottom bag rails and the vertical bar of the rails covers the exposed plastic. In my opinion it is a non issue. I will still purchase the 1/4" short accent trims even if I didn't have the bag rails, but that is only my point of view.

Will do Ron, I have made a new die-set and mine will reveal just about 1/16 of the plastic. I will get some pics of me just holding them on as I don't have them mounted on my bike. But I will hold them both on and snap a couple of pics tomorrow. My wrap-around will reflect 3/16 short after it wraps the front, but if no-one noticed the back end no-one will notice the front. Ron , not the best pic of the old one, It kept falling off, and I didn't notice how high I had it until now, when I viewed the pics. First three are of the new stainless version. The last is the old sample. Gene K.

I am hoping to finish up on 12 sets today. The 24 saddle bag pieces are done, and I am happy with the die set. All 24 came out with the exact same radius. So that part of the production process is final and repeatable. Today I am working on the cowl trim, There is allot of ( by hand ) labor to do the finish work on the edge's . On the 12 sets (48items) , that's roughly 1,224 inch's of material to finish up on. The original retail price when available was 92.95. We have not acquired the hardware yet, but it is working out to be 100.00 per set. The material I am using on these items is what is called a #8 mirror finish, it is the best grade of stainless steel mirror finish available. I have blanks sheared up for another 12 sets , but until I get people to see these at the rally , these 12 are it for now. With the rally so close I am not shipping anything out until after the rally.
Wish I was retired and doing this full time......I could spend a 40 hour week in my shop here at home. I will try to get some more pic's up with one set on my bike once we acquire the stainless hardware.

EVERYONE LOVE PICS...
Well not much to report . with the rally getting so close , and my bike not even pre-triped I needed to look it over. Wow. rear brakes down to about 1% , fronts at 20% , running lights, one shot out from road debris. Didn't get much done on the cowl trim. but did add the first two bag trims on my bike while I was working on getting it ready. I took the first two that I had made up, since they have been banged around , moved around, had overspray on them from other jobs, and just not up to snuff for sale anyhow. With all of that they don't look to shabby. The pic of the 66 chevy will be donated to the MAV chapter, and the pic of the Kaw-kdx 200 is a mess that I am working on. Not a big fan of plated cyl's........ Sent it out and had it sleeved, and have to say , they done a great job of it. If I can get it done along with everything else , I may be able to leave for vacation on Friday,
( it the boss's son's bike ).
Progress has been made on the front fender skirt, but don't know if I can pull this off and have a few ready. But mirror trim is done and packaged ( both styles ) and 8 sets of vent trim are packed and ready to go....
Have not even looked at my trailer yet. Time is running out for me to get ready. I just don't know where the time goes...

You know it. I have about had my fill of the belt sander, deburring wheel and the buffer. No local kids here anymore that have an ounce of brains to help out, Lost my only great helper to the job force once he graduated. Looking forward to two wheels turning , heading west.... Gene I really want one of those fender skirts. That is the only shiny piece I have ever pined for. If you get around to making a few please shoot me an email. I am going through some tough medical issues now but not bad enough I can't pay for one. Thanks!

Gene, let me know when you have a set of fairing/saddlebag trim ready. Also the floorboard covers. I NEED them to match your vent trim and mirror trim! You do great work!

I am pretty sure he has some saddle bag and fairing trim pieces now. They turned out so good. Was really easy to get them on the bike as well.

Well hello again from NJ. Summers shot and on its way out. And with my daughter doing better its back to manufacturing for me.
I see allot of new members on the forum and many may not know whats available.
Even though the heading is "Lets talk chrome" Stainless steel is my metal of choice for these trim items.
With still many items yet to be drawn up and proto-typed , I am making progress.
Recently picked up some floor board covers to reverse engineer, and a spare fender to be able to finish up on the front fender trim. The spare bike I picked up, has no trailer hitch so designing a rear fender trim may be in the works as well.
I have in stock, Mirror trim 80.00 with hardware, bag/cowl trim 100.00 with hardware, vent trim 75.00 with hardware, and a new line of trunk vanity mirrors that are a bit thicker, for less distortion and better fit , at 22.50. Manufacture of the sockets has been streamlined and now at 45.00 for either the 1200 or 1700. And the stainless inserts for the fork brace are at 24.00. All prices are without shipping costs. I have found the last two bikes I had in the shop for front end issues had either the fork brace inserts were crushed out or the hidden issue of the frame section fasteners loose. Scary loose on the last bike I did. And once the right side plastic is off just two more screws and one can get to these bolts. While there, it is the time to check the cruise control cable adj at the same time.
Well that's about it, a busy man is a happy man. And I hope to stay busy this winter.
