POST RALLY

Post by Lucasind »

So the rally came to a end around 9:30 - 10:00 pm Thursday night for most. A few of us decided to stay on awhile longer. Friday night a group of us walked into town for a nice meal, then back to the area where the bike games were held for some additional partying !

Image

We had a few cocktails ,and Gene had a half gallon of margs on ice all day that he needed help finishing off , so always willing to help out a fellow rider.....( ) mission accomplished ! which then led to me playing guitar for awhile......all in all a GREAT time was had at the rally this year and can't wait till next year's rally in Wisconsin !

The boys uploaded a short video they made of me playing to you tube. :gig: ..........tony :-D

Friday was fun, I was there for dinner. Then it was off to bed, Saturday was our depart for Canada day. Tonight we're in Cleveland, after an afternoon touring the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

Next year hoping to see everyone and some new faces at the 27th AVA International Rally.

Hey thanks for the high marks on the song Scott, that kind of silliness goes on nearly every weekend here on the deck !

We came home from the rally to a HUGE mess ....as the Toledo area got pounded by a storm that lasted a day and a half and produced 70 mile per hour winds !

Just before we left for the rally....I built Pam a new table for the deck and got a new umbrella for it. The weather was nice on the morning we left for the rally ....but at the last minute I went and closed down the new table umbrella, glad I did ...as it probably would now be somewhere in your neighborhood :gig: ...........................tony :-D

We are STILL cleaning up the BIG MESS in preparation for our 4th of July party this weekend.
And now that I just recovered the deck surface with that new "Behr" product called "deck over"...
the infamous motorcycle tire tracks are only a bad memory ! :gig: ..................tony :-D

Had no problems with the Voyager but the trailer light gremlins came back, added a ground wire from the bike to the ground wire on the trailer and that fixed it.
Also noticed that something must have hit the headlight and put a hole in it in the one corner.
Now I know what the plastic headlight guards are for?

Only problem we had was the dead battery. Less than a year old.
Haven't found one yet that last over a year and yes I do use a battery maintainer at home.

Only one minor problem on the xii. Lost a speedometer cable drive, replaced in parking lot at motel. Bike ran great the whole trip.

Sunday the 5th at 12:40 is when I pulled in ,with boots still wet from the trip east. After seeing Marie off to the plane trip east I headed West.
Needed more time in the Rockies......And more great Mexican food.
From there headed on US50 somewhat east and then somewhat south.
It's not the destination but the Voyage. Bike ran great the rest of the trip and with good fuel averaged 45.5 at speeds over 65mph. headed up into the Ozarks and spent a night, in the town of Ozark , then to the tail of the Dragon via southeastern Tenn (in the rain , at dusk, with a trailer.) It takes a bit longer to go down with a trailer then I remember.
But I had a blast and would do it again. Headed to the coast and came up 95 to see how it had changed and aside from the northeast drivers was not a bad road. So home save and somewhat sound, I am headed to the pool to get some R@R. Will post some pics later this week. Total Miles 5,326 Gene @ Marie
