Thanks but does anyone have a definitive answer on the igniter? What years are safe? I'm getting conflicting information here.

86 and 87 for sure there may be more but just pull off the faux tank cover and look at the ignitor 1179 bad 1248 good to go. regardless of year someone else may have changed it as well.

It is always a good idea to at least check the igniter on any Voyager XII you may acquire.If for any reason the original was bad there are an awful lot of 1179's out there and some even have the 1248 stenciled on.If 1248 is not punched in then change it anyways .
