Screw size
Anyone know the screw size for holding on the plastic tank cover? 2 screws Some how lost them both.

Not sure but I removed mine a few years ago and have been running since with just the twist knobs holding the faux tank in place. Haven't had any problems or issues at all!

takes the same size as the other plastic I replaced mine with the screws from the left controls when I put a cup holder on and needed longer screws
Trailer...tools...small shop...tent area..hot shower and hot meal.

I think they are 6 MM I used stainless steel button head cap screws on mine

Order yourself a metric kit with all the commonly used metric sizes. 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm etc. You will find most of the screws on metric machines will be those sizes.

It's a screw with a collar on it so when you tighten it down you don't over tighten it and crack the cover. I go without too, but if you want to use one make a collar. Too tight and you break it, too loose and it vibrates out.

Screw head needs to be large enough to nearly cover the recess. Someone used a smaller screw, it chipped out the hole edges. I replaced with 6mmx1 (I think that is the thread size) and flat washer that just fit inside edges of the recess. That worked. Then I went and bought the OEM screws and black plastic plug cover. Cost wasn't that much.
