rear shock replacement

Post by garmstron »

In the topic of "rear shock oil change" it was suggested to replace the air shocks with progressive heavy duty shocks. Will these shocks come with springs or are they separate. Some specific model numbers would help. thank you

Complete with springs. Most choose the heavy duty in chrome. I believe the part number is: 412-4221c

Get the Fork Springs, at the same time. Instructions are on this forum. Be sure to follow them with regards to the fork springs: remove the oil filters, and the spacers; no air needed with the new springs, either. Be sure to get the HD springs for the shocks, as the standard duty springs will likely allow the shocks to bottom out, and be destroyed -- been there, done that, ordered a replacement set, with the HD springs... No problems since getting the HD springs. Cheers!

If somehow you do get the spring and shocks separate, I had to do that for Honda Nighthawk, a local bike shop put them together for me for $20. Check around before you go. FYI.
