POOR GAS MILEAGE
My last voyager 1200, I got around 50 at a steady highway speed of 60 mph. This 1998 1200 I'm lucky to get around 35 back and forth to work(around 10 miles) of country riding. New plugs and snych, tried some Marvel Mystery oil. I guess I will try shocking the fuel system with seafoam. Any other ideas??

Re: POOR GAS MILEAGE
When was the last time the fuel filter and air cleaner was changed? That made a big difference in my '95. Even though the air filter looked clean I replaced it anyway, I'm glad I did. Now I get 47 To 49 almost 50 mpg on secondary roads. I know I would get 50 or better on open highway. Good luck getting better gas mileage.
lockwoodjohn. also, every 3 rd tank of gas gets the seafoam treatment. I am also running uridtum spark plugs, well worth the extra price. Again, good luck!! These Voyagers are darn good bikes

Re: POOR GAS MILEAGE
I agree with the air filter. air restriction will affect fuel mileage.

Yeah, I forgot to mention airfilter has been replaced. Fuel filter is on my bench waiting to be installed.

Re: POOR GAS MILEAGE
I wonder if someone put a jet kit in it that is making it too rich? Also, is it possible the choke[enrichener] is not releasing? :hmm:Is it possible the ignition module is not reading intake vacuum, thus not advancing spark at cruise vacuum?
