Cycle not having power to take off

Post by dhreed »

Hi, I have a 1993 Voyager XII. This happens occasionally and it is bad when it does. I will park it turn it off. When I start it back, it will not take off. It dies. It acts like it is in a high gear. If I am on a hill, I can get it going but if not, I am stuck. Does anybody have a solution to this problem or what is causing it?
Thanks
Doug

Do you downshift to 1st before you come to a stop, then shut it off in 1st? We need to know a little more about the pattern you use when you come up to a stop,so we can better help you.I don't know if something can happen to the shift drum to allow it to go from 1st to 5th,someone else will have to answer that. :thk:

Are you sure you are putting your kickstand back up? The bike won't go if it is down.
