HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
First, the photo size is limited to 800 px wide and 600 px high, max.
Second, the photo has to be hosted someplace on the web, such as a site like Photobucket or Tinypic or your own website.
Third, Get the URL address and copy and paste it between the "img" tags in the edit window. (Click on the "Img" button to insert the "img" tags.)
Fourth, Click on "Preview" to see if it worked!
Here's a sample:
Here's the result:
I use photobucket (free.) In photobucket, when you click on your photo, you will see a box on the right side "Links to share this photo." Click on "Direct" and the link will automatically be copied to your clipboard, then simply paste the link between the Img tags.

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
I joined photo bucket, I had a hard time because my photo's were too large, I had to reduce the size, hit EDIT, RESIZE change the number in the box on the left. Change it to 800 and the number in the other box will change to 600 auto matic like..
Hit Apply then Save and then as Debron said hit the direct box then copy and come back and paste.
Sometimes it hard for me as I'm new to this computer thing sorta..... Ok I'm a dumb bell lol Still trying to navigate..

Resizing pics in a group
To get your pics to a 600x450 size that this forum will allow was a bit tedious if many pics were involved. I found a FREE download resizer that works great (I have Windows Vista) and allows you to resize as many as you want all at once. It covers a variety of operating systems.
It is available for download here:
http://www.obviousidea.com/windows-soft ... e-resizer/
They also offer other 'to buy' software but the free one is all you need.

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
OK, Randy, now you're scaring me! You have so many photos to post you need a program to resize them all at once? Just kidding! We like photos! Worth more than a thousand words.
I use a variety of free programs for editing photos. I often like to crop them first to get rid of extraneous space and details and to make a better composition. Sometimes edit for brightness/contrast or even "sharpen" them if slightly out of focus. Then I resize them. But then I'm anal........

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
No, I'm just an old fart and lazy - LOL
My normal photo editor has a quick click resizing choice of 640x480 - great!, one click to resize for the web and upload to Photobucket. But only oner at a time? Yes, but not to post on the AVA which limits any size number to 600 so I have to then type in the numbers to reduce even further.
Like I said, LOF syndrome....... Lazy Old Fart - lol

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
Photos for posting on the AVA forum can be any width up to 800 pixels and any height up to 600 pixels. 640 X 480 works fine. The two photos in Littlebeaver's post above are 800 x 600 (for reference.)chicagorandy wrote:...but not to post on the AVA which limits any size number to 600....

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
The image tags [img] link directly to a photo's url (web address.) You need to know the url of the photo itself, not the Facebook page it's displayed on. If you know how to look at and read a webpage's source code you might be able find the url. I don't have a Facebook account so I can't experiment to see if it can be done.

Re: HOW TO POST PHOTOS TO THE FORUM
Hmmmm, we seem to have a problem, Doug! I tried to post pics with less than 800 (wide) and 600 (tall) and it told me they now have to be under 600 both ways now. Had to shrink them a bit. What's the story?
Also, Demascus, on FB, if you left-click an image to highlight it, then right-click it, you will see a window giving you several options. Left-click the "Copy Image Location" choice. then, back on this forum's text box, left-click the "Img" button above and your cursor will be between the two [Img] blocks. Right-click and choose "Paste" to enter your image's URL location. DONE!
