So after my epic 3700mile ride a month ago One issue I had was because Im 6'4" the handlebars are still a little to low even with them adjusted my back between the shoulder blades at times would get "the burn" for lack of a better word.
Is there any way to add a riser to the area where the bars mount by the key or any other suggestions?

Tony;
yes risers are available for a 1" handlebar such as for a Harley. If you go this route remember that some or all of the control/electrical cabling may have to be lengthened, depending on the amount of rise. It is doable but may get involved.

Re: Handlebar exstention?
Thanks Dave, so there is no extra length to those cables at all? I was thinking just a 2 or 3" riser.

Re: Handlebar exstention?
Never having done this to a VXII, all I can say is you are entering uncharted territory to me. When I used to change bars a lot, most of the time it was only a 4-6" lift and the aircraft wire control cabling/front brake hose and electrical wiring would need to be lengthened.
But with only a 2 or 3 inch rise you might be OK. I can't say. I would definitely remove the plastic and determine what slack is available for your use before ordering anything.

Tony do you use a backrest? That is the best cure for the "BURN" But at your height You may need some more imaginative items..

Yup, I have a Utopia backrest installed but like you said I think maybe other options need to be explored. I wonder if raising the backrest even more than what it allows by making an extension would help?doug of so fla wrote:Tony do you use a backrest?
