Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Rear brake locked up? Just wondering. Put it on center stand put in natural and see how hard the rear wheel turns by hand.

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Highway Rider thanks, but it spins free in neutral. I've rebuilt slave cylinder, flushed fluid and think no air bubbles in system and checked clutch plates and none were stuck together or burnt.
Thanks,
Bert

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Bike sit for some time? Carbs could be messed up, when placing torque on engine. So if you let the clutch out at an idle, up on center stand, it bogs down?

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Also, a good clutch, you'd feel it in the handle when you pull, like a umph, 1/2 way pulled.

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Avidrider62, thanks, just removed carbs, cleaned and replaced all float needle valves, adjust floats to 18mm. did not sync carbs. Idles fine and revs good. Boggs down and kills engine when clutch is released.

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
So it bogs/kills engine at an idle, up on the stand. Bad clutch won't engage, it'll mainly grind gears or 'clunk". Something in the carbs is aray I'm thinking. I've experienced this myself, finding floats not quite right. Pilot jets ect.. Engaging the engine, even at an idle, puts a load on the engine. 18mm? I know some do this, but Carl and Steve do 17mm. Hooks on the float seats, using OEM design I hope.

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
Tom thanks, I'm at work now but will check kickstand switch in the morning when I get home. The kickstand is currently down and bike is on center stand, so should kickstand be in up position?
Thanks everyone for all your help!

The Voyager has many safety features. One being the side stand switch. If the side stand is down, and it is put in gear, as soon as you try to release the clutch lever, the engine will die. This is normal. After a while the bike will make you look silly. I don't know how many times I've tried too take off with the side stand still down. Always have to look around to see if anyone saw me........

Re: Possible Clutch Issue??? PLEASE HELP
If it was one of the safety switch, that wouldn't explain why it bogs down before it dies. It should just die instantly.
