shift sequence backwards
Thanks to all who helped on my gas leak! After stripping it all apart and wondered if I will ever get it back together again...we have success!!!!
Here's my problem, the gear pattern is upside down??? 1 is up and the rest are down. Is there an easy fix our am I pulling the gear case and fumbling around.

Re: shift sequence backwards
Does your bike have the driver floorboards and heel-toe shifter. If so, the Driver floorboards were incorrectly installed. The Installation instructions are posted in the Tech Section.jlukas4165 wrote:Thanks to all who helped on my gas leak! Re: shift sequence backwards
No the bike does not have driver floorboard, it also has the plain toe shifter, not heal toe.
This was a barn find with 18k miles, so I'm unaware of any history. Other than the reverse shifting pattern the bike runs great

Re: shift sequence backwards
The shift shaft must rotate in a counter clockwise direction going into first gear on a normal XII.

Re: shift sequence backwards
Someone could post a photo of the correct shift linkage position on the XII. That would help him out..

Re: shift sequence backwards
The arm on the transmission is wrong it should be pointing in a upward direction.

Re: shift sequence backwards
Thanks, but the arm is up. Everything appears as it should. Without allot to go by, it appears I may have to open it up thinking maybe someone before me did not set the the neutral positioning lever correctly or gear positioning lever. Hoping it might have been something simple

Re: shift sequence backwards
both arms need to be up as shown in the link below. If the footpeg arm is upside down, one would have to lift up for 1st gear.
