First: thing to check is spray some "Plastic safe contact cleaner" right in the switch, then if that gets it working spray some silicone lube in the switch.

Next :you may have to take switch apart, it has some small parts to be careful of, sometimes there is a little square gasket in there that gets out of place and needs to be put back in the center.

Let us know what you find we can go from there. plenty of knowledge and spare used parts around.

Also when you take the switch apart clean it real good and put some dielectric grease on it.
I had to do that to mine and I think it works better then new.

Thanks for the replies, wont be able to get to my brothers for a few week. Sure hope the switch cleaning works. What would be the next step if cleaning does not fix problem? Thanks Bob

Does the signal work, on and off, if moved manually? Switch cleaning and or the sensor in speedo not clicking it off. Speed sensor may be at faught.

Well the next step I would do is test power to the cancel units
White/red-tracer wire ; when either left or right turn is selected. Pull the plug apart first to see if it is the cause. Look around for things miss-routed and possibly chafed / cut or plugs corroded. The pic shows the cancel unit box on the lower left. It will read / STANLEY DUS-100. The rest of the wires in the box are from the speed sensor and the output to the release solenoid on the handle bar. Most often poor connections on the switch are the culprit.

The box you see on the upper right is a turn cancel delay-extender circuit. Check out chevyman1 for improved version plug/play . You can double the time it will stay on before cancel.

And here is a pic of the bad news if you need to get into that area. Think positive and hope for poor contacts or something unplugged . EKAP

Ok you electrical guru's I have a question that I need answering I have the Headlight indicator on the dash that stays on saying that I have a burnt headlight bulb. However it is not burnt. I friend sent me a new reserve lighting module (sits under the turn signal module. Yeah it's fun to get at...) I switched it out and no change. I ordered and purchased for the ripe sum of $149 the cost of a spanking new module and it does the same thing. Talked to Carl Leo when I was sick in the hospital and not able to write down what he was telling me (sorry Carl) to cut a wire in the "sniff" new module and it would disable the entire reserve lighting feature. Can anybody tell me anything about which wire to cut? :cry2: I would appreciate somebody's help on this. I cannot be the only person in this entire Voyager XII culture to run into this problem. Thanks!

Ok finally got bike out of storage and cleaned contacts and no change. Thinking its the cancel box, I ordered one on ebay and plan on changing next week. OK I know I need to remove the outer fairing. My question are there any tricks that will make it a easier job. Can you just remove lower fairing and get to it? Thanks Bob

Ok just a update to what we found. Checked all connections and no change. Changed the cancel box under fairing no change. Put power to solenoid no click, bought a used hand control and switched out the solenoid and all works fine now. What a pain to find problem. Thanks Bob

Aren't you glad you didn't buy a BMW 1600. Now there is complicated motorcycle. Electric center stand, you need manual to change the channel on the radio.
