New Years Day Ride

Post by Me Again »

Congratulations Misft
200+ miles just to ride in the Annual New Years Day Ride in Madison.
22 of the last 23 years ,most traveling more than 75 miles just to get there.
Not bad considering the high today was 27 degrees

:cold: :bowdn: Too cold for my blood.
Spent the day in the heated shop in a tee-shirt.
Finished re-arranging things to gain more room for bikes to work on.
Worked a bit on a HD, cleaned up the shop , and boxed up some voyager stem sockets.
I like to ride but have my limits, 50 deg is my cut off point,

:bravo: too you and it sounds like you had a great day.....

:devl Well ya know, A hot Tom & Jerry (or 2) in front of the fireplace at the end of the ride makes it all worthwhile. (Gerbings helps too)

I wanted to take a Finished Winter Service celebration ride on New Years.I would have only gone 10 miles as it never got over 35 here :cold: ,but the state must have too much money as they salted and brined the road with no snow in the forcast! :gmad:

Me, too, Gene! We're supposed to ENJOY this pass-time of ours, and suffering in cold just isn't my idea of enjoyment. I guess that comes with age, huh? I've been in my basement shop working on sidecar mounts and Hondasaki stuff, but once in a while I will weld something just to generate some heat!

To be truthful, if I got my sidecar connected to my bike and it were zero degrees outside, I would be on the road testing and tuning it! Some things just overshadow discomfort!
