FINALLY LEGAL! 1994 Voyager XII!

Post by KISSfanJoe »

Well folks, I just wanted to share the excitement... The past few months I have been fixing the Voyager up. I added a Utopia backrest, replaced the highway pegs, replaced my choke switch, replaced my faded controls, new speakers, and a few little things here and there. Today was the day, it passed inspection and I got rid of the headache to get an out of state bike registered here in Texas! I had a few issues these past months in doing that. Today, not only did it get a new Texas plate, but the "previous salvage" that was on the Iowa title was dropped and I will be getting a clear Texas title in the mail! I rode it to work today and it runs and rides like a champ!! I will clean it up this weekend and post better pics when I do that. Thanks to everyone for helping me get it going again!

Thank you! Yeah it is not too bad! The previous owner laid it down, so the right fairing needs some work, but it runs and rides smooth!

Not a bad deal at all, glad to hear you have a tag and clear title.
Did you replace the right side upper or the PO do it. Seems to be a lighter blue in the pic, and there looks to be a gap in the headlamp trim. depending on how hard the PO laid it down, it may have just bent the fairing frame just a bit. Your going to enjoy the riding season on it for sure. Hope you can make it to the rally this year....

The previous owner repaired it and had it repainted. I am going to replace it and see if the fairing frame is bent or if he just has bad bondo skills. I cannot wait to get it out on a long cruise this season!

the fairing is all built onto a sub frame and it's not to hard to bend it ,but gets to be a pain to unbend it.

Thanks guys! It is a work in progress but I love it! I will look at the frame for the fairing when I get a better fairing side for it. It is slightly annoying, but it doesn't bother me too much. I am just enjoying the ride!

I hear ya, you can't see it at 70 or so mile's an hour from the seat. I once rode back from out in New Mexico after a (animal) incident ....I was determined not to let it worry me. Had a great ride and the bike rode on like nothing happened.

:gmad:
But it did lead to 950 dollars in parts.............

Wow! Yeah, things can be expensive on Voyagers, but worth every penny to keep it on the road! I was thinking about a Harley as another fun bike to add to my collection, but decided to get the Voyager legal instead. Boy am I glad I chose to register the Voyager this month! A Harley is on the list for one day, but the Voyager isn't going anywhere! I have had a great couple of days cruising on it!
