Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
A little bit of ingenuity Acetone, sheet metal, Red LED board, about an hour or so. The board pattern shows up better in person, this picture won't.

Sweet job you did. I like it.
Where did you acquire the LED array ? And at what cost ?

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
My next small project is change the front marker bulb to 2 element bulb and have two turn signals flashing together. And add about 4) 194 red LED's to the tour box lamp.

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
love it. I've actually been working on another idea to get light into that spot of the tail lights. Can't believe they would design that light without allowing light to transfer to that area. Nice job.

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
The array has two sided tape, that helped. The sheet metal I used, empty acetone can, very clean I must say

My idea didn't pan out as nice. I'm ordering some of these cards and going with your idea. Why reinvent the wheel

Careful if you use acetone. Hold the lamp up and ensure acetone drips out. Take your time.Other chemicals, I haven't used

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
Finally got my trunk side lights done. I'm very happy with the way they came out.
I love that these LED cards came with pigtails. I used the standard 194 tails.
Love the way the reflector design creates rows of lights. adds a custom look.
The final look is a very clean.

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
Yes you did. I was trying to use a 194 bulb and some round reflectors from flashlights. It worked but didn't fill out the side as well as your idea. Once you posted yours, I knew what I was going to do.

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
Send me your email, I still have the pictures on my PC. This was done in 2016 so ebay sellers may be difficult to search. I'm no longer riding nor have my Voyager.

Re: Added LED lights in tour box side reflector
I converted all lights, except the instrument lights, to LED, including my Headlight bulb (reduced from 55W to 35W): I gained around 1.5 Volts on my voltmeter reading, coming from the alternator. The LED's I used, are bright enough (check the Lumen output, comparing the LED's to the incandescent bulbs they are replacing). I love it: they were plug-and-play replacements, and they will outlive me, and the bike! They consume a fraction of the electrical power, freeing up more amperes for accessories, like my phone charger, and my GPS system; it also delivers more charge to the battery, ensuring it remains fully charged when riding. Cheers!

drtechnology,
Did you get the information you were looking for? Sorry, I've been away from the forum for a while and just got this message. If you need pictures, I can try to dredge up some old photos off an old PC. I love the look they give and are holding up real nice.
