At only 39 degrees I took the Cushman out,but with no wind protection had me back home with only 2 miles on it.
Then I washed the white undercoating [salt]
off the bikes.
I agree with you on the decision to discontinue the VXIIekap1200 wrote:Better you than me,cushman eagle wrote:I took my first ride of '16.I got 49 miles on the VXII and am very impressed with the 5w30 synthetic oil I put in the forks and shocks this time. The ride improvement is even better than the fork oil I put in the shocks last time.

Too cold for this old man still. And I am finally getting to my bike for the work needed on it. So it's not even close to rolling around the shop yet. Had to order new/ old stock for the by-pass hose and ordered new/old stock for the upper and lower rad hose's and the water manifold hose. Alt is off as well as the wheels for rubber and new bearings on the rear. Fork oil change and some new slide/guides for the trunk. Change out the fluids and I will be good to go.
I got 24,238 on the Avons and the rear is down to 3/32 with the front at 5/32 so I feel it was money well spent and happy with how they do on the NC tar snakes in the Smokey's . With over 80 k on her I will be giving it a very good looking over this time around.
I bought the bike with 2,030 miles on it and I am just about 300 miles from putting 80 k on it myself. What a pleasure this bike has been. I still feel Maw-Kaw made a mistake in ending production of it....
The only issue out on the roads has been that known issue of the water manifold o-ring drip. It started in Estes Park and I only lost about 3oz of coolant on the way home. Oh and two or three tanks of poor fuel in the midwest. Looking forward to this years riding season once the salty roads are washed clean and the weather is above 50 deg.
See ya'll in Hurley

Do you have a closet of shelves just crammed with all sorts of goodies, too? I have three sets of reconditioned and tested injectors, two full sets of reconditioned brakes, more than enough parts to replace four water pumps and seals, two radiators, two injector controllers, five ignitor boxes, one spare front and rear wheel set with new bearings, and a couple hundred other misc. parts. Cables, clutches, wheel bearings, switches, starters, and some body parts.chevyman1 wrote:That's why all true Voyager XII owners/riders have a parts bike or two or three.![]()
I try to keep one of everything that is known to be a problem or get damaged like the plastic
