New to the group, new to the Voyager
Greetings from South Texas. Just picked up a 97 Voyager, 50000 miles....
Site rocks, all the tech tips are handy=going from a big American Vtwin, to the Voyager was a big transition.
Just wondered if there were any other folks down here in South Texas.

Welcome!!!
This site has proved to very valuable to me. I venture to say the help I've gotten here has probably saved me hundreds of dollars.
Don't forget to share pics of your ride, it's eye candy to most of the people on here.

Re: New to the group, new to the Voyager
Thanks for the welcome, took it out. Road it a little over a hundred miles... Think there may be an issue with the radio aerial and the cassette deck doesn't work.... but hey... it was an awesome ride.
Try to post a pick later tonight.

Welcome to the AVA. I am president of the Lone Star Voyagers. We are having one of our bi-annual meeting in the Hill Country Tour the 21-24 of April. Take a look at our website Lonestarvoyagers.org. As you will find out we like to ride & eat. Not necessarily in that order. Welcome..

Re: New to the group, new to the Voyager
For a V-twin guy, the biggest change is power, without the rumble... Buddies are joking about naming it "Whisper" but it sure keeps up with 883s and 1200s easy...passes them nicely too...
Looked at Lone Star site-that's pretty cool...
First bike with a radio, first one I could HEAR a radio on...
Is there an antannae for the regular radio?

Yes, on the rear of the bike the two whip antenna's one is the CB (if yours has the CB) and the other is the radio.

Usually the "AM/FM Radio" whip is on the right(passenger) side.Tonyvdb wrote:Yes, on the rear of the bike the two whip antenna's one is the CB (if yours has the CB) and the other is the radio.
Pete does radio work for a reasonable rate and improvements as well (suzib6sw). The Clarion is no longer in production and you loose the handlebar controls if you go to an after market.
I think this is his ad on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200681572504?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Whenever I can have a long enough time for the bike to be parked, my radio will go in for the upgrades (or maybe I will just stop in one of these days this summer/fall).
