Voyager 1300 stuff!

Post by trikebldr »

I was reading the latest Voyager's Voice and noticed Mike McGee's request for magazine articles on the 1300 Voyager. I do have one really good article comparing the 1300 to the Yamaha Venture and the Honda Aspencade from 1984. I also have two brochures, one for the 1983 A1 Voyager, and one for the 1985 A3 Voyager.
As most of you know I also have two of the best 1300's around, one with a sidecar. Not really looking for another bike right now, but I am always on the lookout for any articles, brochures or other stuff about the Voyager 1300s.
If any of you have anything about/for the Voyager 1300 that you can let go of, let me know.

I enjoyed reading the latest Voyager's Voice ! Well Done !
I enjoyed reading Char Jone's article on how Bob and her just happened to become owners of their first Voyager 1300 !
I have all of my "air ride" stuff here for my 1300 Voyager that you can have (you'll likely never need it),
but it's yours ,as I will not have any need of it.

How about that guy on the cover of the Voyager's Voice ! We now know the location of his "lair" :gig:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9245" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

a secret or private place in which a person seeks concealment or seclusion.
synonyms: hideout, hiding place, hideaway, refuge, sanctuary, haven, shelter, retreat
"a villain's lair" :gig:

$5K may be a little steep, but I think the bike is included with literature purchase.

Might be a lot steep, but the bike does look absolutely perfect, and it has a lot of add-ons. Gee, I wonder if I could talk him out of that brochure for maybe $5?

Like Tony says, it never ceases to amaze me how many super nice examples are out there!

I might consider that price for an 87/88 in that condition (cruise control) .
That is one pretty bike and I love the color.

I kinda like that color combination, too! I notice your avatar pic is that color, but it says yours is an '84. IIRC '83-'85 only came in black/wine. I never did like the red seat though.

Yeah, these 1300's are quite roomy, aren't they? And I thought I have had a lot of 1300's! Three for me so far! An '83, '84 and an '85.

WOW ! is all I can say ! thanx for posting that ad,I really liked the part ,where he says ," I'm selling my 73 year old father bike" ! These old time capsules seem to be popping out of the wood work lately ...huh guys ? If only to have enough dough to buy every one of them that comes along ?
I am down sizing my stable "big time" here lately , cause being a guy that has had as many as 22 bikes at the same time, ya at some point gotta say "what am I gonna do with all these bikes" ! :hmm: :cry2:
My profile no longer says "too many bikes to list" :gig: and I have space in my work area now :gig:

I see PLENTY of room to list one more 1300, Tony, and I'm sure you could find room for it in your stable! Hey, you might even fall in love with an original full dresser for road work. I'll bet Pam would appreciate the extra wiggle room behind you! AND, when that day comes, and it WILL come, that you decide you need a sidecar rig, I'm ready to perform the marriage of the two!
COME...ON...Tony! You KNOW you want it! Just "charge the guy for a new part" next time if he's that dumb! Maybe I should come give Pam a ride on mine to get her to work on you, too!
BTW, there are two Terraplane sidecars for sale right now! One needs no work! The other one would take you less than a week to rebuild.

:gig: As far as the side car encouragement, I certainly can not fault you for trying there Bruce !
I am gonna be a good Voyager (one who voyages) and am saving up my pennies and just may be purchasing a 1700 Vulcan Voyager (but NOT selling either of the other two .) :thewave: :gig:
As you know... all I have to do is acquire a seat for my current 1300 Voyager, and I can have it back to FULL touring mode in about a hour !as I am in possession of ALL the original touring stuff that it came with from the factory :tong:
