When I put mine back together I used GM anaerobic sealer. This stuff only cures with the lack of air, as in the two halves mated. If any should happen to get into the oil it won't hurt anything. Having a nephew who used to work for GM helps. :-D

Got the engine back together today. I will put it back in the bike tomorrow. I appreciate the help!

it's been a long time since I put my engine in but if memory serves me, I didn't install the front mounts until I installed the carbs. With the engine tilted down a little the carbs went on easier. Good luck with the installation.
