Bike wont start
My bike was running fine Friday when I got home from work. I went to put it in the garage and it wouldn't start. It turns over but acts like there is no fire to the plugs. This happened a few weeks ago and after trying to start it for about 30 mins it fired up. No luck this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Bike wont start
You're going to need the manual with the electrical schematic. Start at the plugs and simply check for spark to start with. If nothing, then you will have to backtrack to find out where you have lost the connection.
If you do have spark, now you're looking for a fuel starvation issue, assuming you have plenty of gas in the tank.
The list of possibilities is huge, including fuel issues. But, this sounds like a classic troubleshooting case. Good luck.

Re: Bike wont start
Seems like all these bikes need is fuel to the carbs and spark.
Maybe the fuel pump is going (gone) bad?

Re: Bike wont start
a bad fuel pump would explain why it is suddenly not firing up though turning over.

Re: Bike wont start
I have determined it is not the fuel pump. (I think) I pulled a plug and I don't have any fire to it. I have no idea where to start.

Re: Bike wont start
Guys have found gremlins in the multi -pin connectors in the past. You stated that the bike re-started after a half our of trying . Moving the handle bars right and left ,and wiggle jiggle multi-pin connectors
along the left side of the frame after you get the fake tank off, MAY yield some results. Open up and inspect as many multi pin connectors as you can, guys have found damaged, burned, corroded wires in the past. If the engine has no spark when cranking ... this should be your starting point,or kill switch ???
what year is your XII ?

Re: Bike wont start
I had a problem with my 95' when you turned the handle bars all the way to the right the bike would die. Straightened out the bars lights would come back on on the dash. Bike would start and run fine. Broken wire in right wiring harness on the right side of bike. Coming down from starter button. Good luck with your Voyager.

Re: Bike wont start
My bike had broken wiring at steering head, when I turned mine it would die, I took faring off and found 4 wires ready to break, pull on every wire to see if insulation stretches, repair those that do. It may not be your issue but its an idea.

Re: Bike wont start
OK Y'all explain this if you can. I came home today to try some of these remedies y'all suggested and just for grins i thought i would just see if it would start, so i turned the key hit the button and started right up and runs like normal. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but when it wouldnt start and i pushed it in the garage it was hard to push like the brake was on. ( it took both me and my wife to push it in the garage) After it started today i have no trouble pushing or backing it on my own. I do want to thank everyone for their help in this matter.

Re: Bike wont start
It sounds like it was still in gear when you tried to push it in the garage. When in gear it wont start unless the clutch handle is pulled in. of course that still does not explain the fact that it was turning over so still a mystery in some ways

Re: Bike wont start
Check ignition switch and ignition switch wire harness. Take ignition switch out and examine the wires carefully. Also check 10 pin connector.
