cruise control not working

[Voyager12-2003]

Bike is a 2003 with 43000 miles. I can hear the micro switches on the foot brake and hand brake working. Can I spray then or the engagement switch on the throttle with contact cleaner, and how do I access the contacts in the switch body. Should I also check the cc cable for adjustment? And how about the on/off switch on the tank.
