New Toy for the Voyager

I installed this gage to monitor my battery voltage. It's wired to a keyed accessory circuit and gives me the voltage at a glance. It has an adhesive back, and I stuck it to my brake reservoir. It's bright enough to see in sunlight, and has an automatic dimming function when it's dark.


Also, new cruising pegs. Comfy!

Tim great idea with the volt meter, I've had one on my Voyager since 03, mounted the same place,
easy to see and it works. I lost the alternator on mine on the way to Maggie Valley and was
able to get back to where my trailer was with out a problem, with out it I would have been
down somewhere along the road.

I mounted mine just above the right side upper vent. That way I don't need to take my eye off the road to look at the meter. I can see any change.

Very nice addition! I am jealous of all of you who can keep your Voyager engines shining looking new. Also you seem to be able to keep the bike from rusting. I have been fighting this for years. Even going so far as to order replacement pieces to ward off rust. The bike is garaged and well maintained but I cannot get ahead of the rust and tarnishing issues.

Hey Jensee, You're not the only one with that problem. Road time takes it's toll on the bike just like it does the rest of us.

Those are the kind of pegs I want to get on mine. Stick out a little further so I can stretch my legs more and also have them raised up like yours. Right now I just have the rounded highway pegs that are on the crash bar and they don't allow me to stretch like I like.

I ordered the pegs from Marvellas. $134 plus shipping. They are vey adjustable, and feel solid. With the driver's floor boards, I can put my heels on the boards and my toes on the pegs. That position works well for me.

The crash bar is a 1" tube, correct? I know there are so many pegs that are for 1.25" only. And I don't want to order the wrong dimension.

I just put a set on mine, I had to really file and work on them to keep them from not falling down all the time. If they stay down they hit on every corner. There should be a bent washer in between the peg and the stem and it would only lock them on instead of letting them move tightly. Took awhile but got it. And yes they are 1".

Emgo makes a set of Floor Boards for 1" tubes, for around $70 (I paid less than $50, but it's been a few years ago), if I remember correctly. They are 4"-6" on a side, made of aluminum. I've gone through several pairs, on two bikes. I've had the bikes fall over on them, and break them, a couple of times -- my fault, not Emgo's. Anyway, they are extremely affordable, and effective. Hinged, so they can be flipped up, out of the way. Try your local MC shops, to see if they can order a set. Here is a photo of them:

Just another +1 on the Emgo boards. Goodly size, easy to move your feet around to find the most 'comfy' spot, great value for the $$.
