Do you need a special tool/Allen socket to remove the rear brake caliper? The Allen(?) fitting is really large.
I did the front brake pads ok with just a socket wrench.
Also, the pistons seized up pretty hard. I see from other posts that people use a C clamp to compress the piston. I put the caliper on a chair and pressed down hard on the piston with the handle of a hammer. I had to open the bleed valve. I suppose a caliper rebuild would help.

Re: Removing rear brake caliper
When I had to take my rear brakes off, I went and got a Craftsman 8mm allen socket. It is not a special tool, but I could not use a regular allen wrench to break it free. Also comma don't go to Harbor Freight or get a cheap Allen socket because it will break on you. I made that mistake whenever I bought it first instead of the Craftsman. I even made sure to buy the heavy duty impact Allen socket from Harbor Freight and I snapped it in half. I went to Sears and bought the Craftsman and had no problems getting the bolts off or back on

Re: Removing rear brake caliper
I have never had an impact socket or allen that has ever broken, from Harbor Freight. And I have used them a number of times.
