I've seen them go for as little as under $2,000 and higher than $4k (pushing 5,000). In reality any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it regardless of what is asked for it. I could ask for 15,000 but would I get it, most likely not!
If you can get a 2002 Voyager XII with low mileage as you stated between 2 and 4k (personally I would be expecting to pay between 2 and 3k +/- a few), then it's in my ballpark. Others have no reservations about paying a bit higher while some seem to find the very low cost bikes and they're in pretty good shape! It'stuff and miss at times.....
Either way the Kawasaki Voyager XII's are known to run smooth and last well into and beyond 200,000 miles with no problems, just routine maintenance.

I bought a 2002 Voyager XII ,with 34,400 miles on it, last fall. The bike needed carbs cleaned and rebuilt, paid $1650.00 for it. Thought I had made a heck of a deal. When I took the bike in discovered the fuel pump needed replacing too. After this work it still did not idle or run quite right, was dropping 2 cylinders. Bad coil, not wanting to revisit this area had both coils replaced. Tires and brakes front and rear, and some paint work (bag lids), new windshield, I now have about $3,400 invested. Bike runs good now and looks pretty good.

Just thought I would let you know that a low price may not stay that way. I am not sorry about the purchase, love the bike and still not in a crazy amount of money, but did not get as great a deal as I thought I had at first.

Good looking bike,I have made a deal for a 2002 just like yours.This bike has 25,500 miles with a list of things done on the bike.I give 3000.00 for it.Hope it works out.

Just like 823Jim, If you buy a bike that is more than ten years old expect that you will have to do some work on it. Seldom can you find a pristine machine that old. When I got my 2001 it was 8 years old at the time I got it. It really was pristine with no issues. Since then I have had a few but nothing I couldn't handle. The first thing I did was change out the tires. Then I worked on replacing fork springs, rear shocks and added a Utopia backrest. But motorcycles are needy things. Things go bad and if the bike is high mileage more things are likely to go bad sooner than you expect. I have replaced some components and done a few modifications but have held getting accessories to a minimum. The Voyager XII is a really good bike. Well engineered and put together by Americans. You could do worse in a two wheeled conveyance.

On the other hand...a pristine looking low mileage example could also indicate little use with therefore little to no maintenance, whereas a high mileage example could indicate regular and preventive maintenance was performed. Reminds me of my days pumping gas at a full service Gulf station in Hammond, LA when I was a kid. One I remember is a guy drove up in a pristine mustang that I admired. Pulling the dipstick revealed much crud and no discernible oil. Owner said he had never added or changed oil since the car was new...some 30000 miles!
