Flooding in Iron County Wisconsin

Post by vxiirider »

It's a good thing that our rally in Hurley was not this week. They just had a 9" rain storm and the road to Saxon Harbor is closed and US 2 is closed going to Ashland. The article on the computer said that Ashland is completely cut off. Highway 169 from Mellens up to US 2 is washed out also. Mary Jane just spoke with Judie at the Days Inn and she said, " that the area is devastated but that the motel was not effected". If you GOOGLE " Iron County Wisconsin Flooding" there a some pictures there of the washouts on the local roads.

Some of you whom I met at the Rally know that I have a cousin in Ironwood city. I recieved news that her house and 50 acre property was hit hard by a twister. They lost well over 100 trees, the roof and brick chimeny as well two cars that had trees fall on them. They had no warning and were sleeping in the upper level of the two story home when it hit. Thank the Lord nobody was hurt. This property is less than 3 miles from the Days Inn as the crow flies.
