Yuasa batteries are ok. I used them for years but my latest is an Odyssey PC680 battery from Battery Mart. I ordered it online for about $122 shipped.

I got a sealed AGM battery from "Batterystuff.com" for $83.95 with USPS shipping included. Only 2 months now but AGM usually outlast regular batteries. They also sell the Yuasa battery.

Rodney make sure you get a battery tender and keep the bike on it when you aren't riding it. The battery will last at least 4 years if you do.

Two thumbs up on Odyssey . They've been great for me and my 1200. They can be had for a good price too when they are on sale.

Having lived in Phoenix for the life of my time with my 2003 Voyager, the battery tender has had little use (ride year round). But I did have to have my wife pick me up from work one night when the battery failed to start the bike (push starting didn't work, i tried).
Just thinking, if you know you are going to have an extended down time, wouldn't just unhooking one pole of the battery be enough to stop the drain (stereo). I am now in New Mexico and winter will affect my riding more than before, I will have to be more careful now. Mostly slick conditions being the issue, though I expect to be able to still ride between storms.

Batteries loose charge even with no load on them particularly if it's cold. I have a tender but only hook it up if the bike is going to sit more than a couple weeks in the summer and leave it on all winter long. Never had an issue starting.

Hey Tony, if they loose a charge sitting, how do stores sell batteries out of the box with a full charge ready to go.

Now, in cold conditions the battery chemical process is affected resulting in less power conversion to create the resulting energy to crank the engine (hope i said that right). I just think modern vehicles have so much electronics in them that they just have more drain to the battery even when off (just like the clarion on the voyager). JMHO
If anyone knows about cold, it should be someone in Edmonton.

Also, for those owners who experience winter conditions, a fully charged battery will NOT freeze whereas a battery low on charge WILL freeze and split the case. My snow blower, which has zero drain when not in use, has had the same starting battery for 5 years now and it works as good as the day I bought the blower. The machine is stored in an unheated shed all the time, summer and winter.
I keep the battery on a trickle charger from April through to the end of November in the battery station of my workshop, but in the winter it is out in the cold for the battery without benefit of the trickle charger. It has never failed to spin the motor over to start, even with extended times between usage.
My bike batteries on the other hand come out every winter to be tended to in my workshop for the season.
Those blasted memory functions are a real pain in the butt on modern bikes.

My bike stays in the garage, I get to take it out once a week or so. It is always on the battery tender when I don't ride. I forgot to do so last fall and the 4 year old battery died just from the clock wearing it down. Replaced the battery and now stays on the tender 24/7.
