Saw a stupid move

Post by cushman eagle »

Yesterday,I saw a stupid move that I did not do :rolling:  I did that last Monday  .As we were headed to a job about 5 miles away,we had to wait for a line of cars going the opposite way,so we could make a left hand turn.As I looked in my right mirror,I saw a motorcycle passing our line of trucks. He got along riding the berm, till he got to the forage harvester, which was wide enough he had too get in the wet grass of the ditch,he went down as he was passing the corn head, his head only missing by a couple inches. As traffic cleared, and I could make the turn,he had the bike back up,and was picking up plastic pieces. :hmm:

yes its stupid things like that, that gives us bikers a bad reputation.nothing makes a cager madder than when a motorcycleist wont wait his turn in traffic, like riding down the emergency strip on the expressway.i always hope they get a flat from all the debris in the emergency lane that collects there.

I agree it's the 1% of the riders who are idiots that make the rest of us look bad. A rider who is doing as he should is not noticed but one who is flying in and out and acting a fool is seen by all.

I have a hard time saying too much about this kind of rider. 35 to 40 years ago when I was 10 feet tall and pretty much indestructible I rode pretty crazy. I have matured and don't even hardly believe I survived those days. Hopefully the riders you are talking about live long enough to become safe and respectfully riders, when they finally realize the danger they are putting themselves and everyone around them in.

I used to ride with a motor officer from LAPD quite often several years ago. He repeated this saying often.

"There a old motorcycle riders and bold motorcycle riders, but very few old and bold motorcycle riders."

Every now and then he would exchange the bold for stupid, but doesn't roll off the tongue as well!!
