No Electrical Power SOLVED

Post by ffltstn »

SOLVED: It was the battery, never had one just go from working to dead before.

I realize this may be related to the igintion switch. But before I assume anything I wanted to get some other feed back.
Friday went to start bike turned on ignition and with from having power to not. I can't recall if I had pushed the starter button yet or not.
No power to anything. This weekend I checked all the fuses in the fuse box under the false tank, all were good.
Battery was good, power to the fuse box and thru the fuses.
Wiggled the key, no change.
Went out this morning to check the wiring from the switch and the battery had drained down to .3v, yes point three.
Question is could there be anything else that would cause this other than the switch?
Would a bad switch/wire drain the battery?
Are there any tricks on how to get to, remove, and check the switch and wire?

UPDATE, After charging the Battery when I have the run swtich in the off position I have a relay that busses.
I hooked up the charger and when I push the start button the relay on the left side of the bike and to the rear of the three clicks.

Pete? Carl? Anyone?

Had similar problem, I knew the battery was starting to go cause I had to keep the battery charger on for daily riding. The other day it was reading 13 volts but when I hit the stater it would drop to about 3 volts and not even click. Bought a Gel battery and everything is great now.
