New believer
I noticed there a lot of guys on here who go for seafoam, so I thought I'd give it a try on my new to me 1998 voyager. Just ran about a hundred miles and my idle went from 1000rpm to 1500. Guess this stuff really works.

I hope you know you can turn down the idle with the black knob just above the left side carb. You will want it idling at about 900 to a thousand.

I use SeaFoam in my '86 Voyager, usually once a month, or when I'm taking a longer trip. Just to make sure everything is clean and running smoothly. Now, this past oil change (I usually change my oil twice a year with the riding I do), I also did add some SeaFoam to the oil (per instructions) to help clean that up a bit as well.

Firm believer in SeaFoam...
As for crankcase use, I'd suggest using it only once: modern detergent oils (API SJ, and newer -- currently SN) do not break down like the old oils did (SG, and earlier). I used it in multiple engines, from lawnmowers, to bikes, to trucks and cars. It turned my 1979 Honda's oil from caramel color, to coal black, in five minutes, running it up to 180 F. That bike started out with SF/SG oil, in 1979, which broke down above 250 F, which was the operating temperature for the oil in that air-cooled engine! On every other engine, running modern oils, the oil never darkened. I only used SM, or better, oils in the Honda when I bought it used, in 2006. I added SeaFoam to the crankcase on the Honda again, after 5,000 miles, but the oil never darkened -- there was no sludge build-up after the early sludge was removed.
It really does what they claim. With modern oils, and engines, the sludge removal in the engine, is not necessary. If you want to try it, it will not harm anything. Cheers!

The way he ran it through his mower engine is not the most steady way of using it I would think mixing it in the gas at about 1oz per gallon would do a better,and safer way to use Seafoam.I wonder if he has ever seen an engine that has been hydrauliced. They are not very pretty

Spritzing water into the intake, or simply pouring water into the intake at full throttle, letting the water amount control rpms to about 4000 on a small block Chevy motor, will also clean out all carbon from a cylinder just as well as the final cleaning of the lawnmower test. That's not a very efficient use of Seafoam, IMO. Personally, I don't think the time spent in the cylinder while running is sufficient for Seafoam to really do anything more than water can do. Water turns to steam, blasting the carbon away, and I think the Seafoam does the same thing, while the engine is running. Now, letting it soak for a bit might be more effective. But, I agree with Cushman Eagle that a bit in the fuel constantly will do the best job over time.
My turbocharged Buick V6 dune buggy engine has water injection to prevent detonation at higher boost pressures, and my pistons show absolutely no carbon at all, ever!
