My New Ride
I just purchased this
2000 Kawasaki ZG1200 Voyager XII
http://www.bobandsonsauto.net/2000_Kawa ... 953324.veh#
To date I have had a 77 Yamaha XS750
92 and my new current bike a 1998 Concours 1000
1984 Venture Royal
The bike is in great shape, garage kept, stored for the past 6 years as the drive is unable to ride, does need a car cleaning and general service. Now, when is Spring.. Now to sell the 98 Concours
Options to pick up: Trailer hitch and then who knows

Congratulations on joining the family of the AVA And on buying a very sharp VXII .I bought my '99 just over 7 years ago @22000 miles and have greatly enjoyed adding 43000 to that number.

Re: My New Ride
Looks very clean, proper tires, nice accessory foot pegs. Love the color. Wish I had that front fender extension. Have lots of fun.

Re: My New Ride
Hello from NJ, and welcome to the AVA, Nice 2000 and low mileage. Your going to like this as much as the 750.
I had been an owner of a 77-xs750 also, 156K on it before I let it go.

Re: My New Ride
Thanks for the replies. Now, it appears that the engine on this is almost the same as on my 98 Concours. I am selling that bike but have a new K&N, after market cam adjuster that I just added.. can they be interchanged?

Re: My New Ride
Actually it isn't. The Voyager and the first generation Concours were introduced at the same time. The Concours had a 1000cc engine and was sportier in speed and handling. The Voyager by comparison was a tractor. It had a heavy duty high torque engine with self adjusting valves and straight cut gears for heartier load carrying capacity at highway speeds. I owned a ZRX1100 and have noticed a lot of external similarities in the Kawasaki line of engines. If anything the Voyager engine looks more like a water cooled version of the in line four Kawasaki police bikes.

Re: My New Ride
Thanks, part of me is saying to keep both and another is do I need both.. I bought this bike for a few reasons: it looks like great and the talk with the seller made me believe in it and I wanted a bike for long multi state rides and I think I found it in this one! Keep the Concours fir the twisty short range stuff... maybe

Re: My New Ride
OK, I have a farkle inflection. I see the bike in person in Feb, take it home in March and I am already looking for the toys to go on it... Baker wings, trailer hitch, I will use the fog lights off my Concours and etc etc etc...

Re: My New Ride
Awesome! Consider that a gone item.. do you know anything about the wiring that would be needed? I work out of Baltimore and I will check if I can have it sent to the office. It would be a TON cheaper than trying to get it up to the Canadian border in NY.
Do you have a paypal accoun for the payment??
Thanks
Steve

Re: My New Ride
hey, how far are you from Baltimore? I am going to driving back from the office on the 22nd. I can take 95 North if you are not that far off the interstate..

Re: My New Ride
Good Morning, I left you a voice mail last night and my cell number. I am normally free after 6 but no rush as I won't be picking the bike up for some time yet... I do want the hitch so that you can count on.
Thanks
Thanks
