Anybody have a left passenger lid

Post by joemaniaci »

Mine is somewhere in I-70 in Colorado. Also curious for if I were to find a parts bike, are goldwing passenger lids, or anything else compatible? My bike is an 89.

As you see here.....on ebay , most offered have no lids.
The lids are scattered all over the highways...... moments before a 18 wheeler turns them into a pancake. !
I remember awhile back, MrJennsee bought one from a place new.....but it needed to be painted to match the color of your bike ....he may chime in here with where he got it . :-D

I ordered mine from Bikebandit.com. It came without the top box lid and rubber seal which I transferred from the old lid. I didn't lose my lid it was split in the front down to the rivets on the latch. Just to know that lid in the color for my bike was $400. I have no idea what it would have cost complete. If I were you I'd use ebay and set search perameters like Kawasaki Voyager XIII and include body parts saddlebag lid in the description. Check it daily and bid early unless you see a buy it now offer. Just be patient they do show up from time to time. Colorrite has the matching paint for an 89 just go to their website. When you get your lid, make some tethers for the lids so you don't lose them and lock the saddle bags when you are riding. BTW any year lid from 89 through 2003 will fit your bike.

Click on "OEM Parts" then ACCESSORY "side back" to see what is available on the bike bandit website. :-D

It says : "Part on back order " currently none available . :-(

Also , you asked if the Goldwing (or any other) would fit your Voyager......No. :-(

I never realized how common this lost-lid problem is for the Voyager XII's. Hmmm, must be a virus problem that comes with the particular model! So far I've never heard of any Voyager 1300 lids being lost.

BUT, I do give all you guys thanks for making me acutely aware that it's mainly a driver error in forgetting to fasten them down. I am now a bit paranoid about losing mine since the 1300's are a lot scarcer than the XII's. I even lock mine after latching them.

Question: do the XII's latches pop open if not locked?

Yeah Bruce .......did ya notice the price difference on XII lids ...as opposed to 1300 lids ?..........I remember you joking about Gene, NOT making 1300 "shiny parts" :-(
NOT much market left for OUR beloved 1300 's ...................that's ok .........I plan on riding mine till I ...........I can't ride it NO MORE ....then it's in Brad's hands :-(

Yes Trikebldr the lids for the 1200 will unlatch if not locked. Fortunately for me I didn't lose it as I had installed tethers.

I swear I even remember checking the locks on both of the, physically too pulling on the latch. But yeh, already looked on ebay. There was one a few weeks ago but it had those stupid bidding bots attached to it, so it just kept going up and up and up.
