GPS

Post by leghorn1956 »

Good day folks. I'm looking at buying a TOMTOM 400 gps with a integrated Bluetooth kit. Is anyone hooked up with this unit. Any recommendations. Pete Franchise has installed the radio mod. Any tips would be helpful. Are motorcycle gps worth the money. Thanks in advance Jean-Pierre

I put a regular Garmin on my bike but quickly found that using it in the daytime was all but useless. Looks great at night though!! If I were going to have one that linked to blue tooth I would go with linking it to my UClear Bluetooth intercom like I do my phone. The great advantage if you ignore cost of bike GPS is they have glove friendly hard buttons you can access to operate the GPS and most of all they are bright enough in the day time so you can see it. I am just too much of a cheapskate to spend $800 for a GPS.

I installed a Garmin Zumo 660 on my bike for the 2015 season, and am very happy with it.It is easy to see ,and when giving directions, breaks in to my conversation with Peg on my SenaSMH10R,cutting back out when it is done. If I remember,it was about $400.
