Recovering seats

I know there are options to replace the seats. I also know I can find old replacement seats. Years ago I recovered mine with a Saddleman's cover, front and rear. Those aren't longer available.
Has anyone had a shop recover their seats? Cost? Vender? Just looking for cheap but good options.

i had my 1993 voyager drivers seat recovered and reshaped by Terry of terryscustomseats in manchester tennessee. With shipping costs the total was around $300.00. Maybe you wouldn't think that is cheap but he does very good work and the seat is much more comfortable now so I think his price is very reasonable. Terry and his wife were both very friendly and easy to do business with. It took almost two months for him to do my seat but he told me that it would take that long because had a lot of seats to do. Ironically, I'm sewing naugahyde right now -- cracks in the parts of the passenger backrest that face upward. I have an industrial machine, but it's a pain in the arse.

Ken, I had my seats recovered about 3 years ago by a company here in Jacksonville, Sargents. They have lots of info on the work they do on their website. http://www.sargentcycle.com/.

I've had 2 motorcycles seats redone by them, and I have a good friend who also had his recovered there, and we were completely satisfied with each job.

Now, for my '93, when I had the seat recovered, I wanted to get the stitching color matched to the bike to give it some pop. I also had new foam installed on the driver seat, with a gel insert, and the seat was dished and widened by a couple of inches to make it more comfortable. They did everything I wanted for about $350 for the 3 sections (Driver, passenger, passenger backrest).

It's not necessary to replace the foam, but I wanted something that provided a little more support for longer hauls. They rejuvenate the foam to restore it to factory thickness before recovering the seat. Everything is double stitched and made to last.

When my buddy had his seat recovered, he also had his Markland backrest recovered to match. He didn't make any mods to the seats otherwise, and his cost around $300 to do.

Most of Sargent's business is done online for motorcycle work, but I would put the quality of their seats up against just about anyone charging 2 or even 3 times as much for seats for motorcycles.
