Headlight not working after winter storage
After getting my bike out of the back of the garage from it's winter slumber, the headlight will not come on. Any ideas on where to look first? I am going to print the schematic and start tracing power. Thanks for any suggestions
Glad to be riding again!

.. have "we" forgotten that the headlight won't come on 'til you hit the
starter and the charging circuit brings it on???!!!!! Put a voltmeter on
your battery and start the scoot and make sure it's charging..... JM2C

Re: Headlight not working after winter storage
I found the 15 amp fuse to be blown and a replaced it and the headlight works fine now. I find it strange that it just blew and is OK now. Any thoughts?

Re: Headlight not working after winter storage
I had a similar situation. I would suggest pulling the headlight. I found one of the wires had shorted out at the plug. I ran a jumper wire and made it to the ride I was headed to, but after that spliced/soldered in a new socket. No problems for about 6 years now.

Re: Headlight not working after winter storage
Mine was blowing headlight fuses and it turned out in the end that it was some very corroded terminals on the 10 pin main connector going to the fuse block.
If nothing else looks suspicious, you might want to look at that connector.

Re: Headlight not working after winter storage
corrosion on the terminals increases resistance and can blow a fuse. I suggest spraying all connectors with electrical contact cleaner and follow up with a dab of dielectric grease to prevent it from happening again.
