FUEL MILEAGE

Post by ohiojack »

First small trip with my 2010 voyager 1700. I went approx. 180 miles. Got around the 35 mpg area. The bike did run better after the trip. It was acting like it was lugging, I was bucking a 20 to 30 mph wind which didn't help things. Over all it was a good ride. still getting use to bike after coming off a voyager 1200. Better days to come. Looking forward to voyager rally. ohiojack :LvStrk

I have a 2009 with a Power Commander. Typical for me is about 40 MPG, but if bucking a headwind, 35 isn[t bad.

Good timing, we are still on the road returning from the Moonshine Burger lunch ride. This morning we left the West Virginia Ohio border. And traveled down to Greensboro North Carolina. I filled my tank at Wytheville Virginia I had a hundred and ninety eight miles on the trip ometer. And I used 4.6 gallons this is Mountain riding with speeds of 70 miles an hour by the speedometer.

I've got the Ivan ECU reflash. Cobra tri-oval mufflers. K&N air filter. Cobra fuel module.

It's helped my fuel mileage even in nasty head winds I'm able to stay in the upper 30s for fuel mileage at speeds of 70 miles per hour.

My best on this trip was 47.7 mpg on the way to the Moonshine. I think I had a tail wind. Today was some head wind, so the mpg stayed in the low 40s.

Tomorrow I'll see what the mpg for the last 200 miles

Good morning Don, My 1700 is stock as far as I know, I know the intake, exhaust is. When I left for the small trip sunday, the bike seemed to struggle to maintain speed against the wind. It is running a lot better now that I got a few miles on it. The bike sat at the dealers from October 1st of last year . It has 35,000 miles on it. Have a good trip be safe. See you in June. ohiojack

If I drive "nice", at 55 I can get 45 MPG. Who does that?!? At 60 - 65 I get 40 MPG. At 70 I get 37 - 40 MPG. All this on flat roads with no wind.
