... Ya might look for a recommended independent repair shop, they pretty
much don't care what they work on.... The comment about the dealership,
unfortunately, is probably right on.....

The kill switch really is for emergency shutoff so I always just shut off the ignition switch. If memory serves me correctly the switch can be disassembled and checked for poor contacts/broken parts, but first it should be checked with a multimeter at the connectors to see if it is making/breaking the circuit which would negate disassembling the switch if it checks out OK.
Long shot, perhaps the kill switch is not connected to the main harness.
Go to the AVA Home Page---open Tech Center---select Voyager XII and then in the 2nd window from the top you can download an audio manual and other valuable manuals.
If the sound is normal hearing volume and all you have is static, either no station has been tuned in or your antenna is not passing a signal to the radio.
Just a guess on my part, good luck,
Dave

His avatar shows a 1700 Vulcan Voyager. It could be a mistake on his part. If the kill switch wont kill the engine something may have gotten unplugged, disabling the switch. As for the radio it could be a number of things. The antenna could have gotten unplugged. To check that you need to remove the headlight and check the connection from the radio. Check your radio tape deck switch to see if that was tripped to tape. Do you see radio channels on the display or not?

If you look up the user's info it lists current bikes as "83 Yamaha venture 1200" and an "88 kawasaki voyger xii", also the real name indicates that it is a female not a male rider.
:rolling: Just wanted to share incase anyone was making assumptions!
