Need some help!
My passenger controls are currently hanging. The PO apparently lost the mount bolt and just kind of zip-tied everything together on the grab bar. I'd like to fix that, but I can't find the passenger controls in any of the schematics I've looked at (found the cover) and therefore don't know the bolt size. Anybody have a clue as to what size that bolt is?
Thank You!

Re: Passenger Radio Controls
Can't ya ask something easier than that? Anyway, I would try a 6mm X 1.00 thread X 19mm length (approx. 3/4 inches) phillips head screw. I'm thinking that it is supposed to have one of those spacer type washers which is also probably lost so don't over tighten.

The illustration you are looking for is shown on the "Chassis electrical equipment" page of the 2000 microfiche.

Re: Passenger Radio Controls
It's a 6 x 1.0 thread and I found something that will work! I used the 5mm wiggled in and the 8 wasn't even close so it has to be a 6 or 7 method. Went to Lowe's and tried the 5mm I had in the holes and settled on the 6mm. UNFORTUNATELY I picked the 30mm length. Got home and they were too long - dug through my bolt pot and found an old tag bolt that worked. Hopefully we have my issue of the radio cutting on and off solved - I was thinking it was one of the zip ties hitting the wrong spot on the controls and the bouncing of the bike.misft wrote: Can't ya ask something easier than that? Now on to the cruise control :) Thanks Guys!
