securing bike

Post by keith »

forgot that I ran cable through front wheel and crash bar when securing bike overnight at a hotel last night 365miles from home.well, needless to say, when I pulled away this morning for a great day of riding in the mountains of Virginia, bike stopped, tipped over on right side.crinkled front fender ,bent crash bar out so bike would not turn fully.pulled crash bar back in place almost, will fix better when I get home..fender is bent pretty bad,but pulled it out enough to keep it from rubbing on tire.i know, shoud have put something in key slot to remind my senile###that bike was locked..will not do that again!!wont even lock anymore, let somebody steal it,its insured!i could handle that better than the humiliation that I have been feeling all day for doing something so stupid!!40plus years of riding, and this has to happen.rest of the day was great!!

On an 820 lb. motorcycle the steering lock should deter all but the most rabid of thieves. I would think they would go after a Harley Davidson before a Voyager.
