1993 Voyager XII
Bought this used bike in April - 35,000 miles on ODO. Rode it trouble free for about 500 miles. Coil (1-4) failed. Replaced with OEM coil (dealer did the repair). Rode about 750 mile. New coil (1-4 again) failed. Dealer is talking to Kawasaki now to ask why, because he says "been doing this for 40 years...bike coils NEVER fail...".
You good folks have any wisdom to share on why coil failures might occur - possible causes? Dealer said ground strap was somewhat corroded, and that it has now been replaced, but he's not convinced that the ground strap is the problem.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If your spark plug gaps are way open they create a large arc which is hard on the coils.
