Yeppers, that's what I need.

My gages worked well enough -- they allow adjusting the damping. But if I had it to do over again I'd get one of these. I've heard good things about them elsewhere.

I found when re-installing the carbs that pulling the starter was easy and made clearance to get the airbox and carbs in place easier...

I leave the surge airbox along, but that is hard on those boots.
I take off the alternator cover, because I slide the carbs out kinda low.

Motion Pro,,,part # 08-0119
These conventional carb tools don't work with XII. Carbs 2 & 3 have way too little clearance.

My fabricated tool didn't work because insufficient leverage to torque the screw. It's about 1" on each side of an L (erstwhile allen wrench), ground into a couple screwdriver tips oriented 90-degrees from each other. It has a washer strategically placed to push it up onto the screw. I'll try to sort a little cheater bar, else make two new ones with longer handles.

But the Motion Pro tool will make it easier to adjust 1 & 4, to identify where I should put 2 & 3. And I've need one of these forever anyway.

(That 1" tool did save my butt with the cam chain tensioner. It could retract the tensioner, then Gorilla taped to hold it. I was able to reinstall the tensioner even with the carbs still in. I'm getting wa-aay too familiar with that constricted part of the motorcycle.)

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread.

Normal carb adjusting tools, like the Pro Motion one (above), don't work on the XII. Too little room beneath the carbs.

Here's the tool I made, welded from some allen wrench and a washer (on a bag cover for scale). The two screw-drivers are 90-degrees out, the better to get in there. I shaped it with a dremel.

Not the most convenient, and the bike has to be cool; but it's sure compact (in my travel toolkit). I marked the position of the pilot screws at the bottom, then use a dentist mirror to confirm where I adjust them to. I do 1/4 turn increments, so it's either lined up with my marks or 90-degrees out. I can adjust all 4 carbs in about 10 minutes. (Sometimes slip a couple inches of vacuum line on the tool for a handle.)
